Ensure that my bike and equipment is
in good order including brakes, tires etc. before starting my journey. If

Never eat heavy meals before riding.
Always do stretches prior to riding.
Avoid carrying heavy items or items
with loose straps while riding.
Always ride within my capabilities.
Ride carefully so as not to endanger
myself or other riders.
Always overtake riders on trails with
caution, letting them know that you are passing either on their left or
right. Give them time to respond and give you the go ahead.
Be aware that riders may stop suddenly
Stop as often as necessary to revive
Keep myself hydrated at all times with
water, juice or other sports drinks. The climate in Tobago is very humid and
hot. It is recommended not to drink alcohol until you have completed your
ride as this will dehydrate you.
Not to stop in the middle of trails or
pathways, obstructing other riders.
Stay on official paths and trails
Keep my bike controlled at all times,
especially when going down hill and around sharp corners.
Be aware of main roads and vehicular
traffic at the beginning or end of trails and move to the right when ever
you encounter oncoming traffic.
Be careful when swimming at waterfalls
etc. as there are no lifeguards on duty. Do not dive or jump into the pools
at the foot of the falls as there may be rocks below the surface that are
not visible. Swim at your own risk.
